Hello there classic users of Roblox, WoodReviewer here, and today I am taking a look The Classic event hosted by Roblox and Twin Atlas Studios. If you are interested in participating in this event, I’m sorry but for comedic timing I am again publishing this right as the event ends so it is over so you can’t. Or maybe you can. My point is you shouldn’t rely on me to tell you when Roblox events are occurring.
Now I’m sure if you ended up on my blog, you probably know what The Classic event is, but if you don’t then why are you here? Like seriously, why are you here? Go do something better with your time since the info here only applies if you play Roblox and know what the event is.
Anyway, much like my blog post on The Hunt, there are a few basic ground rules I made for myself for this review, and they are more or less the same. I will only play each game until I am able to complete all the challenges for each game, and base my review on that. Normally I do like to try and complete and entire game, or atleast a vast majority of what a game has to offer, before I review it, but due to the time crunch of having to complete 15 sets of challenges in 15 games, I don’t have the time for that. Yes, there are only 15 games instead of 100 games during The Hunt, but each game this time takes ~2-3 hours to complete, plus I only had 5 days instead of 15 to complete them all, so the time crunch for both events is about the same so the rules are the same.
One thing I do need to state is that these reviews are not final reviews. So for the games that I can’t find bad wood grain in it doesn’t mean they don’t have any, it just means I couldn’t find any within the scope of the event. But don’t worry, this won’t come up too much with event.
Anyway, that is enough for the intro, now into the actual games.
Adopt Me! by Uplift Games

The first game that is being featured in this blog post is Adopt Me! solely for the reason that my image folder for this event has the images saved by the name of the game plus a number afterwards and they are sorted in alphabetical order, so for Adopt Me! the file name is “Adopt Me 01” and I’m going to go in this order so I don’t skip any. Adopt Me! is a game that was featured in the original Hunt event and I was unable to find any bad wood grain during that event, and the old classic game that is entirely smooth plastic holds up again and I was unable to find any bad wood grain this time. The closest I got to bad wood grain was this barrel which doesn’t have any lines between the planks on the top of the barrel, but seeing as this isn’t technically wood it gets a free pass this time. Maybe one day I’ll check the furniture store since if there is any bad wood grain that is most likely where it is hiding, but that was a bit outside the scope of this event for Uplift gets a pass this time.
Arsenal by Rolve

The next game saved to my images folder is Aresenal, and much like Adopt Me! they are another returning game from The Hunt and they also maintained the same wood grain status that they had during The Hunt: Bad. Well, it is a bit more complicated. You see, once again Arsenal made an entirely new event game mode for The Classic, and props to who ever made it, but it was in a nice 2008 era Roblox aesthetic and I was unable to find any bad wood grain in it while completing the challenges. However, please remember how I am doing this event: Any bad wood grain I can find while completing the challenges is fair game. So that includes in the main lobby, during gameplay, and while getting to the Classic special game modes.
“But WoodReviewer, Arsenal has a button in the main menu and that takes you directly to the event place.”
Yes. But Arsenal also has a custom loading screen system, and the fence, chairs, and tables in one of those loading screen has bad wood grain, so that counts. Sorry, but I am just following the pre-made rules I already established.
Bed Wars by Easy.gg

Yet another game from the original Hunt event, Bed Wars again maintains its status if having proper wood grain, or atleast did a good job of hiding it from me in other game modes. The one this that I do have to say is that one of the trees in the main lobby does have a small hole in the mesh, but I am WoodReviewer, not MeshHoleReviewer, so even though it does involve wood, it doesn’t actually impact the orientation of the wood.
Bee Swarm Simulator by Onett

Bee Swarm Simulator is the first place to appear in The Classic that did not previously appear in The Hunt, so it is an entirely a tabula rasa, if you were around in 2008 to get that reference. So, is it free of bad wood grain? No. We are going to start off in this little store area that I went into because I wanted to level up my bee to help with the new event game mode that was added, so it within the scope of my review. Anyway, the wooden support beam for this shelf was bad.
Now I’m sure some of you might say that this technically shouldn’t count because you don’t have to go to the shop to beat the event, and you know what, fair.
Anyway, here is a screenshot from the event of Onett holding a honey dipper that has some bad wood grain on the bottom part of the handle. Any more questions? No? Ok.

Blade Ball by Wiggity.

The next game in my photo folder is Blade Ball, another returning victim from The Hunt review. In The Hunt it was one of the games that fell victim to the plague of bad signs that ruined the wood grain in nearly a dozen games. Apparently they didn’t get my memo because the same sign that had bad wood grain in The Hunt still had bad wood grain.
Of course, that seems a bit cheap, and the Blade Ball event was a pain to complete, so it is time to twist the knife some more in some with some bad wood grain from some of the 50 or so rounds I had to play to complete the event. One example was on the bark on this tree. You see, bark should always be the same regardless of where it is, so if the bark wraps around the branches on one part, it should do that on every part. This tree doesn’t do that.

Next is this wooden support beam on the gladiator arena map. It is made with wooden planks, but they are horizontal instead of vertical.

Clip It by Nuera

A new game not just to Roblox events but Roblox in general, Clip It is basically SnapChat in Roblox. I guess. I don’t use SnapChat so I wouldn’t know. Anyway, Clip It involved looking for hidden items around some classic maps, and the game would automatically teleport you to one of the classic maps if you joined from The Classic hub. However, I had to eat so I rejoined the game through the main game page and that put you into the normal lobby for the game, and that lobby had this pool table among several other examples of bad wood grain despite the fact the devs knew this was coming.
Of course, I could have mercy and not include this because it isn’t in the custom made levels that all the event stuff is actually in. So instead I’ll just include these wooden boards that were blocking off and area instead that have bad wood grain on the top face.

Yeah, ignoring the main lobby doesn’t help their case much.
Dragon Adventures by Sonar Studio/Twin Atlas

Twin Atlas and their studios return to The Classic event not just as the main developers of lobby, but also with Dragon Adventures. This game was part of Twin Atlas’ abysmal showing in The Hunt when all five of their games, including Dragon Adventures, all had bad wood grain in some way. This time Dragon Adventures is the one place Twin Atlas had to focus on, and it had a poor showing. Unlike in The Hunt where I got mindlessly lost and found bad wood grain in a user portal, this time I got mindlessly lost and found bad wood grain in one of the main worlds. Granted, it wasn’t one of the main worlds that had event stuff, but I got lost again trying to get to my home portal and wound up here.
Sorry Twin Atlas, but your poor showing here with bad wood grain is again due to your poor waypoint design that caused me to get lost again.
Dress to Impress by Dress to Impress Group

Dress to Impress is a game I don’t get as someone whose entire wardrobe consists of jeans, t-shirts, and a plaid jacket that had multiple duct tape patches on it due to the fact it is old enough to use voice chat on Roblox, but it was impressive this time around in The Classic. Unlike most of the other games from The Hunt that didn’t change if their wood grain was good/bad from the move from The Hunt to The Classic, Dress to Impress removed their bad wood grain from The Hunt, and actually had some shelves with actual proper wood grain on them, unlike Adopt Me/Bed Wars that had no wood at all. Plus the event obby was surprisingly good considering how the main game is about as anti-old Roblox as you can get, so that is another great plus.
Driving Empire by Driving Empire by Voldex

Going from on of the surprises in The Classic event to one of the biggest disappointments, Driving Empire had some of the worst wood grain in the event with this stupid car. This car and all of the other stupid cars that Shedletsky made as wood for no reason what so ever are and offense to God and I’ve hated them for more then a decade now. There was no reason for them to be made out of wood, the wood grain is wrong on the front windshield, and my friends have gotten tired of me ranting about them years ago.
“But WoodReviewer, this car isn’t technically part of the event.”
Shut up, I unlocked it completing the event, it counts. Even if it doesn’t, this fence counts, so there.

Now back to ranting, the green jeep wasn’t the only old car made out of wood that was included as a prize, Driving Empire also included an old sedan.

And an old not-F1 car.

And that brings up another point: Why have these cars? They were made more towards 2011, why not do some real OG cars like the orignal Hummer model, or some of the old car models from ShockDude’s Burnout games, or Tiger370’s Demo Derby. They had plenty of options that are not an offense towards God, why use these? I know some people will say “lol old Roblox had bad wood grain” and yes, it does, but I have been complaining about bad wood grain since literally 2009. I predate most of these throwbacks, and am tired of bad wood grain being everywhere. So no, none of the wood grain here gets a pass because it is a throwback, the best time to fix the wood grain was back in 2009, the next best time is now, and I won’t accept it anyway.
a dusty trip by Jandel’s Road Trip

a dusty trip is a game that has a perfectly style classic Roblox vehicle that you drive down a long road and beat some challenges. Yes, I am bitter over Driving Empire’s cars. Anyway, a dusty trip spawns you in a lobby that you then teleport to The Classic event game mode, but unfortunately for Jandel that main lobby has a bunch of bad wood grain, including this table and chair set right next to the main spawn.
Not wantint to give everyone the impression that the only bad wood grain here was in the main lobby and now The Classic game mode, here is some bad wood grain on the side of these planks in the final boss battle. I call that pretty unavoidable and necessary to The Classic event if you ask me.

Gunfight Arena by Gunfight Studio

Another returning game from The Hunt, Gunfight Arena had a purpose-built Crossroads map for The Hunt, and that map had proper wood grain. However, the game let you vote on maps, and some players chose another map that had bad wood grain, ruining the event. This time, however, the entire event was in a different server, entirely locked out from the normal map pool, and again the maps were all smooth plastic with no wood grain at all. With no normal maps to drag them down this time, Gunfight arena gets a pass for now.
Livetopia by Century Makers

Livetopia is also back in The Classic, and this time it involved some fairly repetitive delivery missions that involved ground around a majority of the main map. This, of course, opened up the entirety of the main map to my observations, and during my wandering I saw this chair that has bad wood grain on the top face of the back. I’m sure there is probably more since I didn’t see any of the user homes that plagued it during The Hunt, but honestly this is all I really need.
Restaurant Tycoon 2 by Ultraw

Restaurant Tycoon 2 had some of the worst offenses in terms of bad wood grain during The Hunt, with multiple assets inside of your restaurant having improper wood grain, and things only got worse with this event as it required you to talk around the entire map to find some tickets, including this picnic table and bench, which have terrible bad wood grain on the legs.
And incase that isn’t enough, here is some bad wood grain inside a Happy Home, and as you can see from the GUI, I found a ticket inside of it, meaning it is pretty unavoidable if you want to complete the quests for The Hunt.

Toilet Tower Defense by Telenthric Development

Toilet Tower Defense is one of two tower defense games in the hunt, and as both start with T they both end up rounding out the reviews. I know some people had a ton of trouble with Toilet Tower Defense, but honestly it wasn’t that bad, especially if you had a group of people who know what they were doing. The wood grain, however, was fairly bad. As I was only doing The Classic event I was unable to play any of the normal map, however the main lobby did have some bad wood grain on the barrel, with the grain being at a diagonal angle on the barrel. This is fairly odd, and probably means something funky happened with a union.
Tower Defense Simulator by Paradoxum Games

The last game on this list due my file sorting, Tower Defense Sim had some fairly offensive bad wood grain on these sign posts right near spawn in the main lobby. There was more bad wood elsewhere in the map, like the steps I found in The Hunt were still unfixed, but I’m ready to wrap this review up.
So, how was the wood grain in The Classic? About the same as in The Hunt. Four of the sixteen games here had decent wood grain, unlike The Hunt had seventeen of one hundred, so a three percentage point improvement is something. Not as much as I would have liked, but it is something. At this rate, it will only take 20 or so more events for every game to have proper wood grain, and I can’t wait for that. Anyway, that is all for today, and just remember, if Roblox asks you to participate in an event, just remember I am watching.

“But WoodReviewer, there are only 15 games listed above.”
Oh yeah.
The Classic Hub by Twin Atlas/Roblox

The first/final part of the event, The Classic hub has several examples of bad wood grain hidden throughout it. The first one I saw was this Iron Café homage, which has bad wood grain on half of the counters and the drink dispensers behind the counter.
Additionally, they included the old avatar editor that Asimo3089 built way back when, so for those of you who thought he could get through this review without catching strays again, I’m sorry. This entire little Easter egg could probably be an entire review itself, but this review is already getting pretty long so I need to end it soon.

And with that, this review is truly over. Until the next event, I’ll be watching you.

Another masterpiece of a review, please, never stop.

Incredible. Thank you for this review, I didn’t want to end up with a bad taste from playing games with subpar wood grains, so I thank you dearly for doing this.

im pretty sure the reason shedletsky’s cars are made out of wood is because wood and woodplanks is the lightest material in the game
