Castle Time-Template Places Part 12

Hello there new studio learners looking for a good place to learn how to start making game, Sir Supreme Wood Grain Ninja Dr. Master Model Overlord WoodReviewer here, once again to take a look at a template place made by Roblox. If you are confused by why you have never seen one of these reviews before despite the fact this is part 12, that is because this is the first template review that I have done since 2016. So which place am I looking at today? Why the Castle Template Place, which you can find in studio or at the previous link. This is actually the third time I am taking a look at the castle template, as it was updated short after I made my original review on it in 2016, and now has been updated after my second review in 2016 with new lighting and stuff. So, in the last 5 years, were the problems with the castle template fixed?

Royalty-Template Places Part 11

Hello peasants looking for a new Supreme Wood Grain Ninja Master Model Overlord, Sir Supreme Wood Grain Ninja Master Model Overlord WoodReviewer here, it is once again time to take a look at some of the “fine” template places ROBLOX has provided new builders as an example of how they are able to build proper places. Today is not a review of a new place, but rather a re-review of an older place that got remade-mainly the Castle Template Place, available in studio and hosted on the Templates ROBLOX account. For reference, my review on the  original is here. To be honest, the new version does look much better.

Starting Place-Template Places Part 10

Hello starting players of ROBLOX, Supreme Wood Grain Ninja Master Model Overlord WoodReviewer here, today I am taking a look at the basics. More specifically, I am taking a look at the default ROBLOX starting place, Starting Place. For those who are new and may not have any idea what I am talking about, ROBLOX is an online game where you can create games. Some of those games have wood textures in them. I am here to make sure the wood texture is used correctly. Of course, not all players can create games, so ROBLOX pre-built some to give new users a starting point. I am here to ensure that the wood grain in these places is correct.

Boats-Template Places Part 9

Hello swashbucklers and scalawags, WoodReveiwer here. Today I am continuing my adventures of looking through the ROBLOX template places by taking a look at the Pirate Island template place, as always, featured on the Templates account and made by Quenty. Just as a reminder, all these places are open source and can be accessed by opening ROBLOX studio and on the home page clicking the “New Project” tab. Then, above the normal baseplates, where it says the option “Basic/Theme/Gameplay” select “Gameplay” or “Theme” to view the places. As another reminder, I am WoodReviewer, so my job only involves reviewing, and fixing, wood. Not balance. Not scripting. If the fact my wood rotation breaks something I will try and fix it. But if there is a major problem with a game I am usually unable to fix it due to my scripting ability, or lack there of.

Why am I bringing this up?

Well, the boats are not good at the whole “not sinking” thing. But this happened with the boats before I modified the place, meaning I did not break anything.

Jumpy-Template Places Part 8

Hello Brighteyes, WoodReviewer here, not John. Today I am taking a look at the Line Runner template place that is, as always, available in Studio and hosted on the Templates account. Line runner is a tad bit different from the other games I have taken a look at so far. First, instead of having a prebuilt map it has premade assets that generate a map, meaning a fairly large map is made from only a few pieces. Second it is playable with only one player, meaning it was easier than normal the make sure fixing the bad wood grain. However, as the second point indicates, it did have bad wood grain.

Containers-Template Places Part 7

Hello shipping container enthusiasts, WoodReviewer here, today I am back to take another look at some of the template places that ROBLOX has decided to give to new users to help them learn how to build and tell ROBLOX why the places are fundamentally broken. Well, maybe not fundamentally broken, but the wood grain is bad, so they are basically unplayable to me. Anyway, today I am taking a look at the Team/Free for All Deathmatch Arena place. Honestly, there is not much bad wood grain here, only two assets actually have improper wood grain. So lets start off with the most repeated offender.

Car Chase-Template Places Part 6

Hello there free modelers who can’t even bother to use free models, WoodReviewer here, today I am continuing my journey through ROBLOX’s template places by taking a look at the Racing template place. This is kind of a special place for me. You see, before WoodReviewer started I wanted to help improve ROBLOX by fixing up the old racing template place. However I never got around to it and someone else fixed it up. Or they remade it completely since this looks nothing like the old one. Anyway, here I am reviewing the result of an old project I wanted to under take.

CTF-Template Places Part 5

Hello there fellow introverts who would rather look at wood than spend time with family, WoodReviewer here. Today it is time for another blog where I look at ROBLOX’s template places and fix the bad wood grain in them. Now, I know last Friday I did a few joke reviews of some places without bad wood grain, and originally that series of blogs was going to be finished by a review of the Capture the Flag template place.  You see, when I did my first look at it, the place seemed just fine; the only wood grain in the place was on the decking for the bridge, and that wood seemed just fine.

Running-Template Places Part 4

Hey,WoodReviewer back again. Apparently some of you wanted some more words and more pictures in a review. I REALLY don’t want to upset my loyal followers, so I’m back for my third review of the day, this time Infinite Runner will be looked at. It is on ROBLOX’s game template account Templates and is available to everyone in ROBLOX studio. In studio, the game looks like this.

Bang Bang-Template Places Part 3

Hello there whiners, WoodReviewer here, apparently some people felt my Obby Template Review was a bit cheap since it was only one picture and a few lines of text. I can understand that, and I don’t want you to think that I’m being lazy, so I am now doing a second review today on the Shooter Template Place to ensure that you have plenty of reviews to last you for the weekend. All that aside, lets start to take a look at the shooter place.
