WoodReviewer’s 2024 Advent Calendar Day 6

Hello there wooden plank lovers of Roblox, WoodReviewer here with day 6 of my 2024 Advent Calendar. Apologies if you were disappointed by yesterday’s gift, but trust me it was very important in order to set up today’s gift. So, what exactly is today’s gift?

Why it is the crates from day 4 and the table from day 5.

Yes, I know, they are the same gifts, but there have one slight difference: They have a custom endless wooden plank texture that goes ontop of the regular wood texture.

This does two things. The first is that it creates an endless wooden plank texture, which gets rids of those awkward wooden planks that start halfway through what should be a single plank.

The next thing that it does is it uses the regular wood grain texture for bricks so that the wooden plank and regular wood textures are a closer match, since currently the default wood and wooden plank texture are visually different.

On top of that, this modified texture has some additional benefits. One is that you can resize the StudsPerTile setting allowing you to have thinner or thicker wooden planks. A second thing is that because the texture is white you can change the color3 value of the texture to have lines that are more or less visibly obvious.

And one last advantage is you can remove the plank texture from the side of the bricks, allowing planks thicker than one stud that don’t have awkward gaps in the side.

Of course, there are some minor issues with this texture. For one it does have a minor impact on game performance, and you need to manually add the textures to parts when you change their material, but overall it is a great improvement on regular wooden planks in some scenarios.
