Hey there, WoodReviewer here. So if you have been following my reviews of Tower Defense Simulator throughout Roblox’s events this year one thing you may have noticed is that I mention that I had previously reviewer Tower Defense Simulator. I believed this to be true because I have a folder dedicated to it on my PC, I was a fairly high level from it, and I have items from previous events on my account. Recently I was working on a re-review of Tower Defense Simulator and I wanted to go back and reference my old review when I noticed that it was not on my site. This was confusing to me until I went back into my drafts folder and realized I had a 95% completed review from 2019 that was never fully finished or published. I forget why it was never completed, I believe it was due to an Halloween update coming out so I went to play that so it would be included in my review and I kind of just forgot about it for more than 5 years. But at long last, here is my original review of Tower Defense Simulator from 2019.
Hello there tower lovers of Roblox, WoodReviewer here with a look at Tower Defense Simulator by Paradoxum Games. Yes, the favorite genre of every kid who wanted to kill time in computer class is finally on Roblox with a proper game that as Simulator added onto the end of its name because why not. If you are like me and only heard of TDS from its Area 51 event don’t worry, you’re not alone. Well, you are now because the aliens are gone, but I am still here to show you the bad wood grain. So, where do we start?
The first map I looked at was Forest Camp. This was a relatively simple map that for some reason had this small wooden fence. But for some reason the fence had this octagonal posts instead of cylinders that have bad wood grain while normal cylinders would have been fine.

The next map that I played was Badlands. This map had a ton of bad wood grain, like it was everywhere. The first and most obvious example was on this minecart bridge which has bad wood grain on the trusses and the decking.

Some more bad wood grain on badlands was on the roof for the support in the sheriff building.

The support for this sign, the fence posts, and the supports for the hotel.

And last but not least some more bad supports under this minecart track with some bonus bad wood grain on the pillars for the mine entrance.

Next up is a map called Autumn Falling. Much like Badlands this map seemed to be almost exclusively of bad wood grain. The first example I noticed was on this log cabin whose vertical supports on the corner had bad wood grain, and had bad wood grain on the sides for the window and door frame. Plus it has some logs sticking through the roof.

The next piece of bad wood grain I found was about 10 studs and is this wooden sign post. The grain on the main post is odd, with the side closes to the camera having vertical wood grain while the side next to the diagonal support has horizontal. Since the post is clearly meant to be tree bark either way is fine. But only if the entire post is the same way.

The last piece of bad wood grain in this map is this wooden bridge near the center of the map. The bridge has proper wood grain on the actual floor, however the horizontal supports and diagonal supports have incorrect wood grain. The grain here should follow the length of the boards.

This bridge, in the Winter Map, has the correct correct wood grain the the horizontal supports. However the wooden planks for the deck of the bridge are incorrect, so it is just as bad as the previous bridge.

The last map I am taking a look at is Medieval Times. It goes back to the formula of having a bunch of bad wood grain everywhere, most noticeably on the columns that are supporting this house.

But it exists in other areas, such as on the well in the background on on the supports for this little shop stall in the foreground.

So, how is the wood grain in Tower Defense Simulator? Overall pretty poor. There are more maps that I can review, but it is difficult to get into matches to review them. Overall most of the issues seem to be pretty basic and should be resolved with just some simple texture flipping, but that still doesn’t make it OK for the game to be as bad as it is.
Well that was my initial review. I know the ending seems a bit off, but I was probably thinking of a better way to end it when I forgot to finish the review. However there are just two small things I would like to add. They were not included in my review but were in my pictures folder named “Halloween 1” and “Halloween 2” and were probably part of the 2019 Halloween update. I don’t know if they were part of the lobby or a map as that was nearly half a decade ago, but both have bad wood grain. This first image appears to show some sort of trestle bridge that has bad wood grain.

And then the vertical post on this scarecrow also had bad vertical wood grain.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this 5 year old look at Tower Defense Simulator. I believe this is the only game that I have a review of that was never published, so consider this a neat treat. And if you want to see a modern look at Tower Defense Simulator don’t worry, that is coming soon.
