The fifth biome that I am covering, the Energy Biome has a unique mechanic where you could zip along a wire from spawn to the teleport location. This was fun the first 3-4 times but got annoying by the 40th or so.

Infection Gunfight by 9thD Workshop

A returning game from The Hunt Second Edition, most people had a painful experience with Infection Gunfight the first time. But I must admit, this time around the game was much better. Gameplay wise. The wood grain still sucks.

Tower Defense RNG by Stouts Studio

Either this is the first proper tower defense game in the hunt or my memory really is bad. Either way, tower defense games have a long history if featuring bad wood grain and Tower Defense RNG is no different, with this mine shaft entrance having bad wood grain on every part imaginable.

Toilet Massacre by Always Studios GGS

I never thought there would be a day where Skibidi Toilet made more sense than the current meme trend, but here were are. Anyway, there wasn’t much to comment on here other than the fact that the window counter has bad wood grain on the top face. The front face is just fine.

Tower Defense Simulator by Paradoxum Games

Ah the classic Tower Defense game on Roblox is back, and to the devs credit I was unable to find any bad wood grain while I was getting the game. But because I know there is bad wood grain in the game and didn’t want the devs to get away with it I decided to hope into Autumn Falling quickly to grab a screenshot of the bridge that still has bad wood grain. Is this unfair? Maybe. But my review has been out for six months and the bad wood grain still still exists so they were warned.

I know I mentioned before that I forget when I first noticed a bunch of games had bad rails on ladders, but I’m pretty sure this might be it. While other games were first if are reading these reviews in the order they exist on my mega post, I did this game pretty early for some reason and then finished the rest later. So yeah, the vertical parts of this ladder are wrong. It is a trend now. Please stop it.

A game that was featured in my first Wood Scraps post, Capybara Evolution returns with bad wood grain on the horizontal rails of this fence. This is a UV mesh issue so while it does look bad it is a fairly easy fix in Blender.

I got chased by a bear while swimming in an underwater cave to get the egg 10/10 gameplay experience. The wood grain on the rails for this ladder are bad 0/10 wood graine experience.

This game is what all the kids today call “retroslop.” However I will continue to call it “having the game be made out of entirely smooth plastic so that there is no visible wood grain.”

I forget if this game was ever slated to a review by me or not. If it was the game has been vastly updated since I last played it. If not, then that doesn’t matter because this bench still has bad wood grain on the legs.

Oh hey it is another anime fighting game that spends way too much time on every single thing related to how the game looks besides for the wood grain. In this case the fence posts have bad wood grain, plus some other issues with the houses.

This game was entirely smooth plastic. I have no idea if there was some buyable asset for the vehicles that has bad wood grain somehow but I have too many games to review to go down that rabbit hole right now.

Squid Game with NPCs and FREE ADMIN! by GroovyDominoes52’s Group

This might be the longest combination of game and creator name in the entire Hatch event. Anyway, the problem here was with the vertical support on this green door/wall thing. It has horizontal wood grain, not vertical. And while it is possible the lighter and darker green are just different paints and all the wood is a single piece, remember, no mercy for any reviews.

This game is probably cursed from the blocky anime girls that were all over the map. And if not for that it is because of the fact this table has bad wood grain on the table legs. I mean, that would imply most games on Roblox are cursed if all it takes is having bad wood grain but I have no idea where I was going with this line of thought. The table legs are bad.

Build to Survive the Tsunami by Tsunami Disaster

Normally I give games the benefit of the doubt when they allow creators to build stuff out of wood and the resulting structure has bad wood grain because that is on the user and not the dev unless I expect them to add something to check and fix the users wood grain. However, when you can add premade assets like an entire chair that has bad wood grain as a user, all benefits of the doubt go out the windows.

Cali Shootout by Crimelife

This was one of the games of all-time, and based on the fact that I kept having to joins servers because every server was full of exploiters flying in mid air spamming down bullets it was really hard to get this egg. Enough about my issues with the gameplay, time to move onto my issues with the wood grain: The sides of the barber stations should have vertical wood grain, not horizontal.

Bloxy Bingo by Bloxy Bingo

I had no idea that there was so much demand for a Bingo game on Roblox, but there is I guess and this is the result. But the gameplay isn’t the real issue here: that is the bad wood grain on the fence. The horizontal wood has vertical wood grain and the vertical wood grain has horizontal wood grain These should be swapped.

Verdict: Fail

Squid Game by Trendsetter Games

You would think by the 10th Squid Game game I would have half a clue what the series is about. But nope, still no idea. Like why doe I have a baseball bat in this one? And why does the baseball bat have bad wood grain?

While I don’t have a problem with retroslop games as a while, I do hate how they discourage other graphic styles from being used in games. That is until I see games that use materials and have bad wood grain. Then I think retroslop is a good thing.

Have you seen this bench before? I have. Many time. Many, many times. And every time I see it I am shocked that no one ever bothers to fix the seat part of the bench which has bad wood grain. Like the back is fine, does no one look at the seat and notice the difference?

One thing that I never understand is why some games have a good 99% of their level made of entirely smooth plastic, but then add a single wooden asset the ruins the game. And why is it always wood? Going back to the topic of games that I never knew existed or needed to exist, Sneaker Reselling is one of them. And as someone who last bought a pair of sneakers in 2022 and plans to wear them until they fall apart like the previous pair I bought in 2017 I really can’t comment on how accurate this game is. But I can comment on the wood grain on this table, which is trash.

Another genuinely unique gameplay idea, Collect the Body again spoils the gameplay idea by having bad wood grain. This time it is on both the rails and vertical posts on this small bridge.

Hey look it is another one of the treadmill games that is all smooth plastic. Guess what, it is all smooth plastic.

Unlike most games in this event that have proper wood grain just by ignoring wood all together, Dog Head Escape is one of the few that stares into the void and uses proper wood grain. Granted it is just all for massive walls, but they could have screwed up the end grain somehow. Trust me, people find a way to screw up easy wood grain.

Survive and Kill the Killers in Area 51 !!! by homermafia1

For as weird of a game name and how odd this game was in general, it was almost correct. However it fell victim to the classic bad end grain on planks issue that almost everyone falls into.

SCP: Sea Monster Siege by Nice_Place

Finally, something more advanced than just a wall that actually has proper wood grain. The only wood grain I found was on this pallet and it is all correct so this really is a nice place.

La Katina Vibe by Katina Studio

A general hangout place, La Katina Vibe was a fairly small and detailed map. Unfortunately one of those details included bad wood grain on the vertical supports for these chairs and tables, and that is not a good vibe.

Skateboard Legends by Overnight Creations

I forget why exactly I needed needed to enter this house for Skateboard Legends, but it is a bad thing that I did because it was filled with chairs that have bad wood grain. Yes, they are a bit different design wise than most of the other chairs that I’ve seen, but the bad wood grain still exists and should be fixed.

Mugen by Pure Pure

So this wood grain is a bit hard to see because it is all custom meshes and materials, but this large vertical support beam appears to have horizontal wood grain. And while it can possibly be some other material, considering a bunch of other parts looked wrong I am inclined to not give the game the benefit of the doubt here.

Infection Smile by Laughablehaha

The only thing that is laughable here is how many games in this event have chairs that use bad wood grain despite the fact they are clearly made by different people.
