Hello there egg enjoyers of Roblox, WoodReviewer here with my look a The Hatch. Now before we start I just want to get one thing out of the way: This event was massive. It was so massive that while working on it my blog editor started to freeze up while I was barely 20% done with my blog post, so as a result I am breaking it up into several parts based on the biomes each egg is located in, plus another part for the hub world.
Also as a result of the length of these blog, I won’t be able to go over every common issue in depth, so here are some posts on some common issues that I will just breeze over in talking about individual games to save time/word count.
Are they a bit outdated and need to be updated? Probably. But they get the general point across.
Anyway as for this event, what am I judging each game on? Simple, if I see bad wood grain while I complete the egg for a game it fails. If I don’t see any, it passes. And because some people seem to lack reading comprehension, I will add a simple Pass or Fail verdict after each game. Now I may seem a bit harsh on some games, but keep in mind some of these games I’m literally just in-game for 30 seconds. If you can’t keep questionable wood grain from me for 30 seconds, well do better. The bar is extra high because it is really low in that respect. Also just because I say a game is good here that does not mean it is good period. I do not have the time to properly play games for this review and as such bad wood grain might be hiding just out of reach for me and I never look for it because I have to move onto other games.
So, how exactly is this review going to be formatted? Below I have the links to all 10 biomes in The Hatch along with the main Hub. If you want to read all of that go ahead, just be warned that the word count in total is close to 25,000 words. If you want to skip and search for certain games that is also valid. Or if you want to skip all that and see what my final judgements were for the event overall just scroll down a bit more.
The Connection Biome
The Darkness Biome
The Light Biome
The Time Biome
The Energy Biome
The Earth Biome
The Water Biome
The Fire Biome
The Wind Biome
The Ice Biome
The Hub World
All done reading the above? Good. Let’s get ready for my final verdict: The event was bad. But to describe it some more I feel like I can use some numbers. Overall, there were 410 games in The Hatch. Only 109 of them had proper wood grain, or about 27% with a generous rounding. If you want to break it down more, here is what the percentage look like for each biome:
Connection Biome: 48 games, 15 with proper wood grain for a good wood grain percentage of 31.25%.
Darkness Biome: 33 games, 6 with proper wood grain for a good wood grain percentage of 18%.
Light Biome: 50 games, 12 with proper wood grain for a good wood grain percentage of 24%.
Time Biome: 44 games, 12 with proper wood grain for a good wood grain percentage of 27%
Energy Biome: 32 games, 6 with proper wood grain for a good wood grain percentage of 19%.
Earth Biome: 43 games, 15 with proper wood grain for a good wood grain percentage of 35%.
Water Biome: 39 games, 11 with proper wood grain for a good wood grain percentage of 28%.
Fire Biome: 43 games, 7 with proper wood grain for a good wood grain percentage of 16%.
Air Biome: 36 games, 14 with proper wood grain for a good wood grain percentage of 39%.
Ice Biome: 42 games, 11 with proper wood grain for a good wood grain percentage of 26%.
For reference, in previous events The Hunt was at 17%, The Classic was 25%, The Games was 20%, the Haunt was 18%, The Winter Showcase was 8%, and The Hunt: Second Edition was 12%. Obviously 27% is a vast improvement over most of those but it is still no where close to a majority of the games in the event having proper wood grain. Add on the fact that I probably could find bad wood grain in another dozen or so games if I spent another 20 or so minutes in each and this picture gets even bleaker.
Now I’m sure some of you probably expect some deeper insight from me but honestly I am just tired of typing at this point. There was just a ton of bad wood grain this time around, and that is after Roblox lowered the scope of this event from 1,000 games. Just please, do better.

so l just finished reading everything and initially I thought he was just gonna review the biomes of the event but… no. bro reviewed every single game involved in the hatch (PLUS THE BIOMES TOO) which is crazy because theres like 400 games and majority of them actually suck so I genuinely could not play them because it was so boring. reading the wood reviews made me feel better about “skipping” the games because not only were the games boring BUT THEY HAVE BAD WOOD GRAIN TOO.
just one question for mr. woodreviewer himself, did you find all of the eggs in every single game you played or were there some games where you gave up?

I got all the eggs. There were a few games removed from the event in the first few hours after the event started that I didn’t review because I wasn’t going to start tracking those as well

you wanna know how many games got good wood grain just for being made of wholly and entirely smooth plastic?
67
excluding games stated to be “mostly smooth plastic”
number subject to being inaccurate since i am very prone to miscounting stuff
