Stress Test-4TRESS

Hello there future cavemen, WoodReviewer here, today I am taking a quick look at 4TRESS by BuildIntoGames Games. To be clear, much like me Meadows Ranch review, 4TRESS is an early Alpha game, which means it is not done yet. That means that what I am reviewing may be changed, possibly even has in the 36 hours since I took my screenshots for the review, and is not final. Also like Meadows Ranch, this means I have the opportunity to help improve the game as it grows, or reuse a bunch of screenshots from this review in its post-release review.

However, 4TRESS is in a much earlier state than Meadows Ranch, more like a glorified tech demo than a game at this point, so I wasn’t planning on doing a review. However, after my review of Giant Survival!, BuildIntoGames insisted that I review another one of his games, so I felt obliged to.

10 Planks of the Reviewer Manifesto

Hello Comrades, WoodReviewer here, today I have an unusual blog post. For those of who are unaware, recently a large amount of reviewer accounts have popped up and have started to review things, such as followers, metal, and CSG unions. Since I am atleast partially responsible for this, I’ve decided to put together a little guide for the new reviewers on how to be a good reviewer. Also, it may give others some insight into how I work since it is a general guide for how I’ve been working for the past few months.

Looking for Zoey-Giant Survival!

Hello there fellow giant hunters, WoodReviewer here. Today I am taking a look at Giant Survival! by BuildintoGames. Normally my sole intention while reviewing games is to look for bad wood grain. I am still doing that. However, as you can judge by the title, I am looking for my close friend Zoey. The last time I saw Zoey was when she ran off into the sea chased by a the army after destroying most of the town in ROBLOX High School. Also, Cindering, that was your own fault for using bad wood grain on the shelves that hold the chemicals that make giant hamsters. Anyway, since Giant Survival! has giants, what better place to look for a giant hamster.

I started my search for Zoey at a giant tree house, looking for the elusive giant tree hamsters. However, getting up to the top of the tree proved to be problematic as the ladder to get up to the house has improper wood grain on the vertical supports.

I Like Trains-Twisted Paintball Part 4

Hello there lovers of all things involving trains, WoodReviewer here, and guess what, time for another TWISTED Paintball map review, this time featuring Trainyard by CanadianSanic. I know, some of you are bored of TWISTED Paintball, but here is a secret: I spend about the same amount of time each week on reviews regardless of how long each review takes. So while TWISTED Paintball map reviews are fairly quick, they give me more time to work on other reviews that take longer. Onto the actual review, lets look at Trainyard, a map that I will show very little of the trains because they have no wood grain on them. First up, the crates are back.

For those that don’t remember it from part 3 on TWISTED Paintball, basically the decal attempts to cover up the wooden block. However, because the block goes one way, the vertical supports on the side and diagonal supports in the middle have improper wood grain.

Wood Fix It-Wood Grain Fixing Plugin

Psst. Looking for an easy fix? A nice simple way to press a button and have all your troubles go away? Something that is too good to be true? Well, WoodReviewer here, and I’m here to tell you why there is no such thing as a simple plugin to fix wood grain.

As of posting this, there is only one wood grain fixer plugin, Fix Wood Grain Direction by DataBrain. This post is not to rag on the plugin; it could also be called “Exceptions to the normal rules of wood grain.” It SHOULD be called that, however people keep asking me about this plugin, other keep recommending it, and while it is good, it is not perfect. So, lets start down the list of why it is not perfect.
