Escape-Prison Life 2.0

Hello readers old enough to remember when Prison Break was a relevant TV show, WoodReviewer here, today I am taking a look at the recently revived place, Prison Life by Aesthetical, now in the 2.0 version. This was on my short list of places to review this month, and with 2.0 being released and its massive surge in popularity today, why not do a review now. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Prison Life, it is a game where you live life as a prisoner until you escape, and then gather guns to return to the prison to brutally murder the innocent prison guards for either fun or to help others escape. Seems a bit dark when I say it like that, but most of the prison guards now are guests, so they don’t really have feelings. Especially this one.

Rotation for RBXDevs-How to Fix Wood Grain

Hello confused devs of ROBLOX, WoodReviewer here. Today I am not here to just talk about how wood grain should go. Today I am only here to talk about how you rotate wood grain to fix it. Yes, I know. You just rotate and resize the bricks. But that seems to be above what some people are able to do. So lets start at the very basics on how you fix wood grain.

No Plugins

This first part is how you can fix wood grain with a completely stock version of ROBLOX studio, no plugins or anything, like I use to do for years before newer building plugins were a thing. The first step is to have some bad wood grain.

Starting Place-Template Places Part 10

Hello starting players of ROBLOX, Supreme Wood Grain Ninja Master Model Overlord WoodReviewer here, today I am taking a look at the basics. More specifically, I am taking a look at the default ROBLOX starting place, Starting Place. For those who are new and may not have any idea what I am talking about, ROBLOX is an online game where you can create games. Some of those games have wood textures in them. I am here to make sure the wood texture is used correctly. Of course, not all players can create games, so ROBLOX pre-built some to give new users a starting point. I am here to ensure that the wood grain in these places is correct.

My Army-Clone Tycoon 2

Hello fellow Dr. Genus impersonators, WoodReviewer here, today I am taking a look at the successor to the famous Clone Factory game, Clone Factory 2 by UltraW. I did a review of original Clone Factory Tycoon a few months ago if you’re interested. But this isn’t about the original; it is about the sequel. Personally, I don’t really like clones. They are dumb and mindless. I much prefer the actual army of minions I have to do my bidding on ROBLOX. Aside from John. He always screws everything up. But my preference to minions aside, one has to agree that clones are truly terrifying.

Harambe-Harambe Tycoon

Hello gorilla lovers of ROBLOX, WoodReviewer here Today I am taking a look at the place formerly known as Harambe Tycoon by Berezaa. This place was once an homage to our former savior, but was shut down after a child fell into its enclosure. For those who are not familiar with Harambe, he was a very famous gorilla who had a long history of helping to improve the world. This included raising millions in charity for various fundraisers, helping to raise the educational started in several states by double digits and, most famously, helping to broker a peace treaty between humans and apes as a result of King Kong’s rampage.

Z Fighting-RBXDev Offices Part 5

Hello lovers of smooth and correct textures, WoodReviewer here. Today is the last day of my look at texture clipping on ROBLOX. Depressing, no? I’m sure some of you are upset that complaining about an actual issue is going away, but based on what people have been showing off on Twitter I am needed again to complain to people about all the improper wood grain that exists. But the wood reviewing starts again tomorrow; today it is time to take a look at some examples of texture clipping inside of the RBXDev office buildings. First off is an example of someone using proper building techniques to get rid of texture clipping.

Terrain and Roads-Texture Clipping Part 3

Hello there terrain builders of ROBLOX, WoodReviewer here, today I am going to be going over several ways to get rid of texture clipping when building terrain and roads, mainly with regards to C-Framed, non-brick terrain. So basically where the terrain is made of rotated bricks. So this is hard to explain, so here is a pond that I am using to demonstrate different techniques on.

Techniques-Texture Clipping Part 2

Hello there flickering textures of ROBLOX, WoodReviewer here. Today it is time to continue our journey into texture clipping by showing off some basic techniques for how to fight texture clipping. Today I am only covering basic issues, involving bricks that meet at 90 degree angles.

“But WoodReviewer, no self-respecting dev would have texture clipping that is so easy to fix.”

Just so we’re clear, you do know there I am current 90+ blog posts in on telling people how to rotate wooden bricks correctly, right?

The Basics-Texture Clipping Part 1

Hello aspiring brick layers of ROBLOX, WoodReviewer here. Today marks a special week as I dive into a week of posts not relating to wood grain. However, it is maintaining the overall theme of this blog of complaining about minor things that annoy me and not most other people. Today I am complaining about texture clipping, also known as Z-Fighting, alpha fighting, and about half a dozen different names based on who you ask and how technically they are. Personally, I call it texture clipping. Now that I have settled on what I am calling texture clipping, it is time to say what it is.

What is Texture Clipping

Well, lets say you have two bricks, one white and one black. You inset them next to each other and you can see a distinct line where one ends and another begins.

Black Aand white.png

Now lets say you move one brick over a stud they are intersecting each other like this.

Do you see how when they overlap there is not one they is on top of the other, but rather they mix together? They is texture clipping.

Derailed-King’s Landing

Hello there coaster enthusiasts of ROBLOX, WoodReviewer here, today I am taking a look at the King’s Landing Amusement Park by Crow_Crow. Some of you may not be aware of this, but when I’m not on the internet complaining about wood grain I enjoy spending my time at amusement parks. Or, more specifically since amusement parks can be a bit expensive to travel to, complaining on the internet about how Cedar Point should give Mean Streak an RMC makeover. But with topper track rather than I-box so it can stay a wooden coaster. However this blog is not about wild coaster speculation or to bash Vekoma giant inverted boomerangs, but to look at wood grain, so lets start with that.
